I'm a recent immigrant to the United States, having only been here for two years and living in Paterson, New Jersey. I'm part of a BIPOC women-owned massage company that has a majority-Black workforce. Working at Womens Massage has been an amazing journey for me, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity I have to help others every day.

I'm constantly learning new things, as my colleagues come from all walks of life, and I'm always taken aback by how diverse and unique their stories are. I've also learned how to use different massage techniques, like Swedish and deep tissue massage, and it's been amazing to see how the practice of massage therapy can be beneficial for so many.

It's been incredible to witness how my work has had an impact on people's lives. I remember this one time, a customer had been going through a difficult time and was feeling down. After I had finished giving her a massage, she was so grateful for the relaxation and comfort she had felt that she hugged me. In that moment, no words were needed, and the whole conversation was in Spanish.

I'm always reminded of the importance of being kind and caring to those around you, and that's the most important thing I've learned while working at Women's Massage. Even though we don't have the chance to travel the world, we can make a difference in the lives of others, even in the smallest of ways.

I'm so proud to be part of a business that has empowered so many women of color and given them the opportunity to put their skills and knowledge to use. It's been an honor to be part of such a powerful team, and I'm excited to see where this journey will take us. And who knows? Maybe one day I'll be the one in charge!
